Fashion Never Sleeps

Why is this picture funny?

This is why.

We went in to wake up Anna the other morning and found her this way. Those little pink straps on her arm belong to her plush purse, kind of like this one. It was a gift from her Aunt Rachel last year, and now she sleeps with it in her bed every night. It has plush keys, a lipstick, a little mirror, a soft cell phone (that pink blob down by her feet), and even a credit card (which Anna calls the "little towel"). You never know when you might need to touch up your fake lipstick or make a phone call overnight.

This girl never stops playing, which is why the edges of her bed are still stuffed with extra pillows!

100 Days

Today is Noah's 100th day of life! Yippee! I had planned to take a picture of him holding a little sign or something but we were busy all day and now he is sound asleep. He really should be. I think he knew that today was special and he decided to try and stay awake for 100 hours. We were out with Ashley and the girls all day and even when the girls were all asleep little Noah had to stay awake and listen in on our conversations. I hope this means a long night of uninterrupted sleep, but I won't hold my breath ;)

*Since I posted this message I have come back about a thousand times just to click on the photo and look at that fuzzy blond hair that he had when he was born. It's all gone now, and though I love my baldy boy, I sure do miss that baby fuzz!

Cuteness

This weekend, Anna decided it might be fun to go for a swim. She put on her sun hat to protect her head and just maybe to tame her wild hair.

But soon she realized that even with her swim shoes, the bottom of the pool was pretty slippery. Better safe than sorry.

Noah looked on, completely embarrassed, "Do I really have to tell people that she's my sister?" Or maybe that wasn't it at all. Seems to me he was thinking, "Whatchou talkin' 'bout Willis?"

Soon Anna was turning blue and shivering.

So daddy rescued her with a big towel, and the camera of course.

Once we were back inside, Noah was still in a serious mood.

So I started to take pictures of his little farm outfit with the matching tractor socks (and drool spots).

But pretty soon he was feeling happy again. We're realizing that he has the same crazy tongue that his sister had in all of her baby pictures. He has also inherited his parents' fabulously pale complexion.

He was in his swing, and I wasn't looking through the viewfinder when I took these because I was next to the camera making funny faces. So I cut the top off of most of these pictures!
But he didn't mind. Don't you just want to nibble those dimpled cheeks?! Is it just me?

Can you believe this boy is already 3 and a half months old?! This morning I found him on his tummy in his crib. I had no idea he could roll over on his own!

Almost...

Over the last few weekends we've gotten closer to that elusive family photo. Anna is usually a bit distracted and Noah is still pretty squishy, but we think these pictures are about as good as they get with two little ones.

Here she is in her sailor dress from her great aunt Mary Anne. This is what she did when we said "Anna show us your teeth!", hoping to get her to smile.

A little bit of CA

Not much new around here, so here are a few pictures from our California trip back in March. I can't believe how much smaller Anna looks to me, or that Noah was born less than 3 weeks later!

Okay that was more than a little bit, and that was just a tiny bit of the insane amount of photos Nathan took on our trip! These are mostly Pebble Beach and Carmel. I'll save San Francisco and Yosemite for another day.
Some of these are clickable and some aren't. I'm not sure why but if any of my blogging friends know an easy way to fix them you should email me!

Emotionally Unstable

This past weekend I packed up all of Noah's Preemie, Newborn, and most of his 0-3 month clothing. I was so sad! I've always gotten sad when I've done this for Anna, but it was even harder with him because he has grown so much quicker than she did at this age. She was in 0-3 month clothing until she was like 5 months old, and Noah is already wearing some 6 month things! So it was really hard to pack up teeny little outfits that he only wore one time, especially the outfits we bought before he was born, the day we found out he was a boy, etc.

This little puppy sleeper was too small and he couldn't even stretch his legs out all the way. He didn't seem to mind, but when I put the little hat on things went downhill fast.

This face should explain why I never have time to blog anymore!

Later (after a diaper blowout that freed him from the puppy sleeper) he was enjoying a little tummy time......

...when a scary big sister appeared behind him and made him feel a little nervous. She likes to lay next to him on this mat, but he usually doesn't want company. Ooooo I love that little baldy!

The other day Anna woke up from a nap with what I like to call "Tina Turner Hair".

I think she felt a little embarrassed...

...until she decided it might be fun to attack the camera again.

P.S. Yes, I did just put up a link to the International Tina Turner Fan Club. I rule.

Down on the Farm

I thought I was busy when we first brought Noah home from the hospital but I'm quickly realizing that the older he gets the busier I will be. He's awake a lot more now than he was in those early newborn days and that leaves very little time for blogging. So, sorry. But here's some of what we've been up to lately.

Last week Anna, Noah, and I went to Huber's orchard with my mom, my sister, and her boys. It wasn't very crowded because there is no real holiday going on right now, and the weather was perfect. Our first priority was, of course, to put our name in at the restaurant! Then we walked through their little garden on our way to the playground. Anna loved the little fountains they had.

When we got to the playground, we were quickly surrounded by these curious ducks, who thought for sure that we would feed them. They were even poking their heads into our stroller baskets! I think Max felt a little vulnerable.

Anna and Sam had fun on the see-saw although my sister got a real workout lifting Sam so that Anna's end could go down.

Okay this is just funny. Even funnier is that my mom was squatting down behind this thing holding Anna up so she could peek through!
Cracks me up that Anna wasn't even really smiling.

I won't tell you how we had to force them onto this little cow. Or how Sam was screaming while we laughed and took pictures. Anna actually didn't mind for once!

Wheeeeeee!

We walked over to the animals next. As soon as Anna saw them she said "He wants out" and she said that for all of the animals the rest of the time we were there. Here are Anna and Sam checking it out. I think Anna was trying to strike a "I am SO not afraid of this" pose.

But then she noticed the Goat Walk, also known as goats walking on little boards right over your
head. These goats (like the ducks) were also pretty bold in their attempts to be fed.

Mommaw will protect me from these crazy goats.

Aughhhhhhhhh! It's okay! It's okay!

Everything after the goats was much less scary. Sam enjoyed looking at the chickens.

Anna was right at home on the playground.

Next was the bunnies. They caught on pretty quick that the kids were not going to feed them, so they ran back into their little house for shade. Anna got pretty upset and started demanding, "Bunnies! Come back here!".

Of course, here's what Noah was up to all that time.
Next was this crazy jumping thing. Sam ran up first and Anna really wanted to go too.

Amy was kind enough to take Anna up to jump.
Then I had to get up there too. It was so fun!

Overall a great day. We had lots of fun and I came away with a super attractive farmer's tan :)
